The program

Oil out, no mess left behind

Fryer oil is the fastest way for a kitchen to make a mess, and the fastest way to plug a grease line if it ends up in the sink. We place a sealed container sized to your fry volume, pick it up on a set schedule, and leave the area clean.

Because we also service your grease trap and interceptor, one call covers your whole grease program: oil out the back door, traps pumped inside, paperwork filed.

All used cooking oil containers are provided for service use only. They are not for purchase and remain the property of Riverside Grease Company. On any stop of service or cancellation, the customer must return all equipment provided by Riverside Grease Company, and we ask that you allow 28 business days for us to remove our equipment.

Why it matters

Protect your lines, your kitchen and your permit

Fewer backups

Oil kept out of the drain means far less load on your trap and sewer lines.

Cleaner kitchen

No overflowing buckets, no slick back-door pathways, no pest attraction.

Compliance & sustainability

Documented recycling through a permitted facility, not the sewer.

Every oil, every fat

All food-grade oils and grease accepted

If it came from a commercial kitchen, we take it. That includes used fryer oil of every type plus solid and rendered fats, and we pay top dollar for clean, well-kept oil. Have oil you can't use? We also pick up unused, expired or out-of-compliance cooking oil still in its original containers and haul it to a permitted facility, so you're never stuck dumping pallets of oil yourself.

Where your oil goes

From fryer to fuel: what used oil gets recycled into

Used cooking oil isn't waste, it's a commodity. Every gallon we collect is processed at a permitted rendering facility and given a second life:

Biodiesel & renewable diesel

The largest use, refined into low-carbon transportation fuel.

Animal feed

Processed fats become energy-rich ingredients in livestock and pet feed.

Soaps & cosmetics

Saponified oils are used in soaps, lotions and personal-care products.

Industrial products

Lubricants, paints and oleochemicals all start with recycled fats.

Clean, uncontaminated oil commands the best recycling value, which is why we pay top dollar for it and why proper storage matters. Keeping water and food scraps out of your container protects both your payout and the recycling stream.

Common questions

Used cooking oil FAQs

Is used cooking oil collection free?

For most kitchens, yes, containers, pickups and hauling are provided at no cost. Better still, we pay top dollar for quality used cooking oil, so high-volume fryer operations turn a waste stream into a revenue stream.

What oils do you pick up?

All food-grade oils and grease: canola, soybean, peanut, sunflower, corn, olive and blended fryer oil, plus rendered fats like beef tallow, lard and poultry fat. We also haul away unused, expired or out-of-compliance cooking oil that's still in its original containers.

What containers do you provide?

We provide sealed indoor or outdoor collection containers sized to your fry volume, from portable indoor bins with lids and wheels to 200+ gallon lockable outdoor tanks that deter oil theft. Containers are not for purchase and remain the property of The Grease Company. If service stops or is cancelled, all equipment provided by The Grease Company must be returned, and we ask that you allow 28 business days for equipment removal.

How often do you pick up?

On a set schedule matched to your fryer volume, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, plus on-call pickups when a busy stretch fills the container early.

How do I get top dollar for my used cooking oil?

Keep water, food scraps, soap and cleaning chemicals out of the container, keep the lid sealed, and stay on a regular pickup schedule so the oil doesn't sit and degrade. Clean, dry, high-volume oil earns the best rate, and we quote against current market pricing.

Do you pick up unused, expired or out-of-compliance oil?

Yes. Oil that is past its best-by date, off-spec or no longer usable, even still sealed in the original cases or drums, gets hauled to a permitted rendering facility. Call for a volume quote on large clean-outs.

How do you keep the pickup area clean?

Sealed hoses, contained pumping, no drips on the pad, and a wipe-down of the container and surrounding concrete before we leave. Slick back doors are a slip hazard and a pest magnet, so we don't leave them.

What happens to the oil?

Collected oil goes to a permitted rendering and recycling facility where it's refined into biodiesel and renewable diesel, animal feed ingredients, soaps, cosmetics and other industrial products, never the sewer, never a landfill.
